Therapy can be a powerful agent of positive change. It helps people feel understood so that they can begin to discover what they need to feel better. Treatment allows them to make sense of feelings that are overwhelming, scary, or confusing. By connecting with their therapist, clients begin to realize their potential for change and growth. Shifts in perspectives, attitudes, and coping mechanisms lead to new ways of connecting with one’s self and others. Treatment brings more than relief--it brings new possibilities.

Specializing in the treatment of children, adolescents, adults and couples for over 35 years, Mr. Bass has helped clients through important life transitions, developmental issues and personal struggles. He helps children grow beyond challenging emotional and behavioral periods and reconnect with their parents; helps parents gain understanding and useful perspectives about their children; helps couples restore their marriages; and helps divorced couples create viable and meaningful relationships as parents.

Mr. Bass received his MSW in Social Work from the Jane Addams Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Illinois, Chicago in 1975. He received a certificate from the Loyola Post Graduate Advanced Clinical Training Program in 1981. His frequent and popular community presentations have included: Effective Parenting and Partnership, Parenting of Pre-teen and Adolescent Boys, Differences in Boys and Girls, Boys in Peer Groups, Effective Communication with Pre-teens and Teens, Midlife Transitions- Men and Women, Surviving and Thriving Through Unemployment, Stress Management, Marriage as a Process, and Parental Partnerships in Divorce Situations.
